About IGBO-Union Switzerland

Uniting Igbo people and friends of Igbo culture across Switzerland since our founding.

Who We Are

IGBO-Union Switzerland is a non-profit organisation dedicated to uniting Igbo people and friends of Igbo culture living across Switzerland. We bring together individuals from all cantons who share a love for Igbo heritage, language, and traditions.

Our members include first-generation immigrants, second-generation Swiss-Igbo, and anyone who feels connected to the rich tapestry of Igbo culture — whether through family, partnership, or a deep personal interest.

Our Mission

We exist to preserve, celebrate, and share Igbo culture in Switzerland through:

  • Cultural events — festivals, music, food, and arts that keep our traditions alive
  • Language programs — workshops and sessions to learn and teach Igbo
  • Community support — connecting members across cantons and building lasting friendships
  • Youth engagement — empowering the next generation to embrace their Igbo identity

Our Chapters

IGBO-Union Switzerland operates through regional chapters, allowing members to connect locally while remaining part of a national community. Each chapter organises its own events and activities tailored to its members.
